Explanation of Points Points scored is designed to be a more accurate metric of the jigsaw solving effort than just pieces fitted. It takes into account the exponential difficulty that occurs the more pieces a puzzle has. For example, it is much more difficult (takes more time) to solve a 250 piece puzzle than five 50 piece puzzles.
The formula used to calculate points is:
P + ((P - 80)/10)²
where P is the number of pieces in the puzzle.
This means a puzzle of 80 pieces will score 80 points and a puzzle of 250 pieces will score 539 points.

Seconds per point is the average number of seconds it takes to score a point. This is the measure of how fast you are able to solve a puzzle.
